In the competitive world of commercial real estate, technology is a powerful tool to differentiate spaces and attract tenants. With a workforce that increasingly operates on-site, remotely, or with hybrid models—and businesses scaling at a rapid pace—flexibility is key.

For Chris Hahn, IT Manager at compensation platform Pave, this flexibility extended to turnkey network infrastructure when subleasing office space. Facing more square footage than they needed, Pave turned to sublease the excess. As a Meter customer, their space was already equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and ready for a new tenant to plug in and get to work. And since Meter is vertically integrated, creating a new, fully segregated network for the new tenant was straightforward, easing security concerns.

Enter the logistics fintech startup AtoB and its Head of Infrastructure, Gireesh Bandlamudi. For Gireesh, the prospect of moving into a new office without the hassle of managing a complete network buildout was tantalizing. Coincidentally, having used Meter in their previous space, “There wasn’t even a contract to renegotiate; it just came down to changing the billing address and square footage,” says Gireesh.

Meter’s proactive support model allows you to focus on higher priorities

For Chris, Meter’s primary benefit is what he calls the “set it and forget it” model. “From quoting and sourcing installers to ongoing monitoring and support, Meter takes network operations off my plate.” And being able to tell prospective lessees that they could have Wi-Fi up in a matter of days was also a huge selling point.

“Meter is my 24/7 NetOps team.” Chris Hahn

The proactive nature of that support is also key for Chris. “Last week we had an AP [access point] outage that I didn’t even know about until Meter notified me. It was in a corner of the office that’s not used heavily, so nobody had experienced any connectivity issues yet.” He continues, “You guys found it, traced it to a wiring issue, and had a repair scheduled before I was even aware of the issue. It was just so easy.”

As for the experience of subleasing space with Meter networking already installed, Chris says that from his end, all it entailed was “having a new controller installed and moving a couple of cables.” Meter came in for a site survey refresh, ensuring that the Access Point placement was optimized to provide great performance and coverage for AtoB’s newly segmented network.

Meter: peace of mind for your office move

And Gireesh says Meter delivers exactly that. “The peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about overhead costs, sourcing equipment or labor, or managing the installation, that’s how Meter made this office move so smooth,” he tells us.

From reallocating Pave’s on-site hardware to helping identify a new ISP and arranging the hookup, Meter was there for Gireesh. “Overall, support and operations with Meter are as close to plug and play as I’ve seen.” That, and the fact that Meter’s vertically integrated model inherently provides top-notch zero-trust security, ensures that Gireesh has nothing to worry about. All that service for a solution significantly more cost-effective than Gireesh’s other options.

“By my quick calculations, Meter is costing us approximately 1/10th of what a full new office buildout would run.” Gireesh Bandlamudi

Since the hardware was already on-site and functional, when the new ISP had unexpected issues connecting their circuit, AtoB could use Pave’s backup network while it was sorted out. Once the ISP kinks were sorted out, Meter’s default configurations gave AtoB’s team deep visibility to guarantee network segregation.

Now that it’s been 10 months since the move, how does Gireesh feel about Meter? “We’ve had one single support ticket that Meter took care of immediately. That’s the kind of support we’re talking about.”

“Meter is revolutionizing the Networking space today like cloud providers did a few years ago for remote storage.” Gireesh BandlamudiHead of Infrastructure, AtoB

Meter is already turning internet infrastructure into a turnkey utility

Long term, Meter plans to turn internet infrastructure into the next modern utility - increasing global productivity and progress along the way. It’s actually why the company is called Meter. Everyone has a power meter and a water meter. You move into a new space, turn them on, and they just work. With the right approach, the same can and should be true for the internet. AtoB's move is a prime example of this mission at work.

Chris’s closing thoughts on the experience of subleasing Pave’s office space focused on simplicity.

"From an infrastructure standpoint, Meter made it super simple. Yes, projects can be this easy!” Chris Hahn
IT Manager, Pave

For Gireesh, the whole scenario made it possible for him to continue managing AtoB’s network despite living in a different city and working fully remote.

“I don’t need to be on-site to manage the network. With Meter, I know it’s handled. Want peace of mind? Use Meter.” Gireesh Bandlamudi
