We've entered a strategic, multi-year partnership with Microsoft to collaborate on advancing networking to be more efficient, secure, and AI-ready. Together, we’ll work to remove the complexities associated with legacy networking systems, provide more performant networking products, and accelerate network automation.

The opportunity: why now?

Networking drives global progress. It connects our world, enabling everything from the exchange of ideas to the reliability of global commerce. As the need for increased bandwidth, data processing, and compute grows, so too does networking’s importance. Large-scale networks capable of managing the substantial traffic volume in data centers have become critical infrastructure. Yet, the industry is highly fragmented, constrained by legacy hardware, and represents one of the biggest blockers for scaling compute. Modern technologies are straining current architectures, and creating demand for more reliable, secure, and performant solutions.

“As AI continues to reshape our world, modernizing global networking infrastructure isn't just important—it's imperative. Meter's vision for faster, more resilient, and secure networks represents the kind of ambitious thinking needed to drive the industry forward. We're backing Meter's bold mission to rebuild networking from the ground up and transform an essential industry.”

A shared vision: efficient, AI-ready networking

Tactically, our partnership is focused on three key areas that will unite our unified networking stack with Microsoft’s global scale and speed.

Investment and support. Our collaboration is rooted in a shared belief that networking should be highly reliable, secure by default, and ready to support the most demanding workloads. Microsoft will serve as a strategic partner as we develop our next-generation networking hardware and software, offering expertise in design and performance.

Advanced compute. Soon, we will fully integrate onto Microsoft’s Azure AI computing infrastructure, gaining significant compute and performance for training custom models. The first step will be moving Command, our generative UI product built on our real-time, proprietary data, to Microsoft Azure. Direct access to Azure’s compute services—especially GPU clusters—will exponentially scale our AI training, inference, and analytics capabilities.

Market expansion. Through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, we’ll create new channels to promote, sell, and distribute Meter products to more customers globally. Collaboration with Microsoft’s expert sales and solutions architects will rapidly expand our reach to enterprise customers and partners seeking comprehensive connectivity solutions.

Meter’s ambition

The opportunity ahead for us is clear: build the definitive networking stack—integrated hardware, software, and operations—to power global packet transfer. By no measure is Meter the first networking company, but with the support of Microsoft, our aim is to be the last.
