Jordan Ramsay is Chief of Staff at LatchBio, a modular, programmable data infrastructure platform for biopharma R&D. The platform allows biotech firms to upload, store, visualize, and analyze their experimental data output in one place. Shortly after joining the company, Jordan was put in charge of an office move into their new 15,000 sq ft space in San Francisco’s China Basin neighborhood.
With a diverse background and wearing many hats, Jordan was looking for expert networking partners to collaborate with his real estate and operations team to build out the network in the new space. He was subsequently relieved to hear that LatchBio was already using Meter and that they could take care of everything. “Meter was awesome to work with as I didn’t have to spend any brainpower on the network move; it’s a customer-centric partnership and user experience,” he says.
Meter is the easiest vendor experience you’ll ever have
That’s not to say Jordan didn’t do due diligence. “This was my first time going through everything from the vendor selection, site audits, installation project management, walkthroughs, etc. for networking” Jordan remembers. “Meter was simply the easiest vendor for me to work with.”
“I would arrive at the office and everything was just…done. I’d get an email saying ‘we did thus-and-such, does that work for you?’ and I would respond, ‘yep’ and we were good to go.” Jordan Ramsay Chief of Staff, LatchBio
Since LatchBio was already a customer, Meter worked with the landlord at their previous office to decide what hardware would come with them and what could stay for the next tenant. “The landlord at our old space had a lot of questions about what was staying and what we were taking with us.” Jordan relates. “Meter handled everything from working out what wiring stayed, what hardware wouldn’t be needed at the new office, and what they would have to add to our setup to make everything work given the new layout.”
Meter lets you get back to your primary job tasks
“In a role like mine where everything is operational thinking, mainly about finances, my day is spent problem-solving,” Jordan tells us. “I can’t be interrupted constantly by things I can’t fix, like a network issue, or I’ll never get anywhere with my primary job.” Knowing that Meter’s team of network engineers is always monitoring their infrastructure gives Jordan the piece of mind he needs to start long brainstorming sessions, knowing if something were to go sideways, Meter’s got his back.
“Meter always emails me right away should they see any anomalies, even when they crop up overnight when there’s no chance anyone is even in the office. When I come in the next morning, I might not even know there was an issue until I see the emails from Meter,” Jordan says, continuing, “and if I ever have to contact support, I get a real human within minutes. No automated chatbots asking repetitive questions that get us nowhere acting as a gatekeeper.”
“I love that when I reach out, someone immediately responds. That’s just so refreshing in today’s tech support climate, where bots guide everything. Meter provides genuinely thoughtful customer service.” Jordan Ramsay Chief of Staff, LatchBio
And in the odd event of an outage? Jordan knows that he’ll have answers, fast. That allows him to ease his 40 staffers and their concerns, “I can trust that I’ll have useful answers to relay when I start getting emails and Slacks about an issue because I’ve already gotten a fast, concise, and accurate answer from Meter.”
Meter reduces your headache potential
When asked to sum up his experience with Meter, Jordan uses what he calls the “head bangs per year” metric. “Dealing with vendors can be a very frustrating experience, quite often leading to me wanting to bang my head against the nearest brick wall,” he tells us. “I rate vendors by how often they give me that desire, and with Meter, it’s zero.”
Looking to the future, Jordan says he absolutely sees LatchBio sticking with Meter as they continue to scale. “Meter spun up the internet infrastructure in our new office in a matter of weeks, and they acted as project manager so I didn’t have to deal with coordinating installers, organizing vendors, or anything. I have no reason to think Meter won’t be able to continue scaling our internet infrastructure as LatchBio continues to grow.”
“My advice is to pick Meter simply because you won’t have to think about your network anymore. They can see around the corners and into your blindspots, telling you about potential issues long before you might experience them.” Jordan Ramsay Chief of Staff, LatchBio
