As a NaaS solution, the Meter support team has long fielded numerous events and alerts about your networks, processing and proactively troubleshooting before a potential issue is even noticed. It’s this model that enables us to provide white glove service, whether you’re a multinational logistics company with millions of square feet or a small private school with a single building.

Historically, these notifications have not always been directly accessible to the IT and networking teams we serve. While some prefer it this way, others wish to monitor their networks as closely as Meter does. To grant further control, visibility, and flexibility, we are pleased to introduce the first extensibility feature in the Meter stack: custom notifications. This feature is designed to empower your teams with real-time responsiveness, flexible control, and centralized operations. Built to save you troubleshooting time and grant you peace of mind, use email to respond to network incidents immediately.

Surface specific real-time notifications in your inbox

Custom notifications help surface network events, allowing you to take immediate action and maintain optimal network performance. You can use this feature to send alerts directly to your distribution lists, Slack, PagerDuty, or even ServiceNow.

Notifications allow businesses to trigger automated workflows and processes based on specific network events via an email, and soon, an HTTP post request via Webhooks. This feature enables you to choose how and where alerts are sent, integrating seamlessly with your existing workflows.

Setting up notifications in the dashboard does not require deep technical expertise, making it accessible for teams of all sizes. The intuitive configuration ensures efficient handling of network changes and alerts, minimizing downtime and optimizing response efforts.  Looking ahead, Meter notifications will also eventually target your applications or notification brokers like Zapier with a Webhook.

Custom notifications provide you with more control, customization, and centralization of your IT processes. Look out for this change in the next NOS firmware update coming in August.
