At Meter, we’re focused on building a modern networking architecture that’s consistent, accessible, and interconnected across the entire stack. In this way, we’re able to streamline the disparate systems and product complexities associated with traditional networking, and deliver products that are not just powerful, but also intuitive and user-friendly.

You might have seen this in practice over the last few weeks as we shipped new features like policy routing, custom notifications, captive portals, and rate limiting—all tailored towards making our customers’ networks even more configurable and resilient.

Today, we’re taking this a step further and releasing a product that we think will fundamentally shift the way we interact with and manage networks—Meter Command.

Your network. At your Command.

Command is a generative UI product that enables IT and Networking teams to query their network, take action, and create custom software fit to their specific needs—all in natural language. Each of our users essentially gets their own engineer, doing their bidding.

With Command, we’ve combined the best aspects of the command line—precision and power—with the usability of modern dashboards to deliver a personalized experience that works for you. Command doesn't just answer questions and take action—it generates software and entire dashboards on the fly, a capability that amplifies and accelerates engineers’ existing workflows. We trained models on our hardware, architecture, software, indexing for three core design principles to ensure Command is as reliable and intuitive as it is fast: accuracy, speed, and usability. For a deeper look into our architecture and the impetus behind building Command, read our latest post: Meter Command

Busy teams can use Command to more efficiently work through routine operations and execute complex tasks, saving them time and resources. Simply make an ask—“Create a new captive portal that asks you to comply with terms and conditions of my guest network”—and Command will generate software with real-time data needed to surface metrics, troubleshoot issues, and configure your network to most reliably answer your query—all at the speed of searching on the web.

“To be able to turn a complex task into simply asking a natural language question and receiving an immediate response is incredibly impressive. Just today, I was installing a new security camera, and instead of testing and hunting for the right port, I could have just used Command to turn on port 34 in a matter of seconds. That would have saved me 30 minutes on just one task. That level of time saving can be very powerful.” Manuel Bernal VP of Technology at Greylock Partners

Command in action

Command offers a flexible canvas for arranging different network components, curated dashboards for saving key metrics and status checks, and a mobile-friendly chat interface for troubleshooting on the go. The system was built for team-based network management and enables easy sharing and collaboration.

In practice, you can leverage Command to generate real-time virtualized hardware on the fly, troubleshoot client issues, scale network configurations, create custom, interactive dashboards, and so much more—all in natural language.
