Meter's mission and long term ambition

Internet is ubiquitous, but internet infrastructure is painful. Market dynamics to date have created a fractured industry with misaligned incentives, high friction and inefficient spend.

We believe there is an opportunity to create a vertically integrated infrastructure provider that combines hardware, software and operations to align incentives, remove friction and lower costs. The scale of this ambition is immense - if we do not fully transform a market with hundreds of billions of revenue, we will fail.

We are pursuing this with an incredible team of operators in pursuit of the biggest impact of their career, with the backing of long term investors excited by the industry transformation we can achieve (Sequoia, Sam Altman, Lachy Groom).

This role is critical to Meter's success

Our mission is shared by all teams at Meter, and each person needs to embrace their function through that lens.

This person will be responsible for the systems and processes that enable our financial activity with all stakeholders.

We need someone who will thrive on the opportunity to build the financial backbone of a vertically integrated provider of multiple services, through a globally distributed team, with a creative capital structure, that can scale with efficiency and rigor.

This role is based out of our San Francisco HQ office.

You will have an impact by

  • Being kind & ambitious
  • Designing and building the Controllership function with modern technology and processes

This role is critical to Meter's success

Our mission is shared by all teams at Meter, and each person needs to embrace their function through that lens. We are not looking for someone who wants to build a cookie cutter Sales Ops function. We need someone who will thrive on the opportunity to build the backbone of a vertically integrated provider of services, with multiple channels, GTM motions and operational implications. Sales Ops is the top of the operations waterfall at Meter, with multiple touchpoints back to our tooling during a customer lifecycle.

We are looking for someone to operationalize Meter’s revenue engine. There’s a high level of complexity to manage across Meter’s vertically integrated platform. You’re a strong match for this opportunity if you’re excited by the inherent challenges within this complexity from a systems, process and data management perspective. We are looking for someone who wants to do the most ambitious work of their career.

In this role, you will tackle existing projects while scoping and executing new ones; examples of potential projects are listed below. You should be an adept Salesforce admin with experience managing other sales and marketing automation platforms such as Hubspot and Splash. You should have a skeptical view of your previous experiences, but be able to dissect previous experiences down to the core principles and methods, creating optimism about new situations. This role will require you to make decisions that require finding the optimal balance between velocity and scalability.

This role is based out of our San Francisco HQ office.

You will have an impact by

  • Enabling the marketing team to efficiently manage campaigns, measure ROI, and determine new strategies
  • Enabling sales reps to easily sell the product at maximum value
  • Enabling our operations teams to transition a closed deal to an installed customer with live revenue
  • Providing the organization with insights on how all of the above are working, and, how they can be more efficient
