Meter is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or nationality. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our event, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
We expect all participants to:
- Be respectful and considerate towards others
- Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants
- Participate in an authentic and active way
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
- Verbal, physical, or visual abuse towards any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, staff member, or other event guest
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Inappropriate photography or recording
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the Meter team may take any action they deem appropriate which includes but is not limited to:
- Ask you to leave the Meter event, without eligibility to receive a refund of any fees paid
- Prohibit you from attending future Meter events and programs
- Involve law enforcement
All determinations are at our sole discretion.
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify an event organizer as soon as possible. You can make a report by:

- Contact a staff member, identified by Meter t-shirts
The report will remain anonymous and you will not be asked to confront anyone. We value your attendance and safety is important to us.
